- Gareth was a 15 year old child, 5 foot tall and weighing approximately eight stone.
- Gareth had been sentenced by North Staffordshire magistrates to 12 months in prison.
- 3 day's into his sentance at Rainsbrook Child Prison Gareth "collapsed" and died whilst being restrained by three prison guards employed by Group 4.
- The Prison Guards involving in the death of Gareth have not been suspended from work or charged with any offence.
